House System and School Council
At Bournebrook, every child belongs to one of our three Houses: Rowland (blue), Saunders (red) or Burgess (yellow). These Houses are named in honour of three much-loved and influential members of staff who made a lasting impact on our school community.
House Points are awarded for a variety of achievements — for example, showing kindness, working hard and following the Bournebrook Way, as well as winning class competitions. The weekly totals are announced during assembly, and the running scores help to build a wonderful sense of teamwork and friendly competition across the school.
At the end of each school year, the overall House winner is announced, and the House ribbons are changed to proudly display the winning team’s colours for the year ahead.
Our School Council is elected each year through a democratic voting process. The council, supported by Mrs Brookes, gives our pupils a voice in school life. Members help to organise charity events such as Children in Need, share ideas from their classmates, and act as positive role models throughout the school.
